Child-centered and tailored to each student and their needs, abilities, and interests.

Educational Toys

Math

Mathematical problem solving is central to learning math and applying it to real world problems. Our approach guides students through a journey of discovery, encouraging them to actively think, understand, and communicate to solve math problems.

We use a three-step learning process: concrete, pictorial, and abstract which helps emphasize the "why" before the "how". It’s an approach that emphasizes understanding over mere repetition!

English Language Arts

Our curriculum is hands on, engaging, multi-sensory, and rooted in the science of learning. Our approach aims to balance reading, writing, listening, speaking, grammar, and vocabulary skills and provide a variety of text types and progressively complex materials to support student learning.

Explicit instruction focused on

  • Foundational Skills: phonological awareness (sounds and syllables), decoding (how letters represent sounds) and high frequency words (sight words), which are essential for students to read and understand texts effectively.

  • Close Reading of Complex Texts: Students engage with high-quality, challenging texts to develop critical thinking skills and deeper comprehension.

  • Volume of Reading: Exposure to a wide range of relevant topics helps build vocabulary and knowledge, fostering literacy growth

Science

Our approach emphasizes observation and inquiry as students engage in hands-on activities, observe changes over time, and learn to ask questions. They use simple features to compare objects, materials, and living things, noticing patterns and relationships.

We aim to build knowledge of key scientific concepts and understanding of  the relationships between them over time and foster research skills and critical thinking.
